A western saddle has the unique distinction of possessing ruggedness and beauty at the same time. They can be made to look as simple or ornate, Pretty or tough as desired. Plus these saddles have the distinction of being unique, one of a kind.  I was taught how to make western saddles by a rancher for working ranch hands and trail riders who need a saddle strong enough to carry all their belongings and comfortable enough for the rider and horse during the many hours and days it is used.Hence, fitting is a must and why I insist on fitting the tree being used to the horse and not rely just on templates.
