All the carvings I create are made totally by hand using an assortment of differently textured tools to press down the leather creating the 2 dimensional feel of carved leather by using these tools to make the lines, shapes and textures of a persons or animals facial features and individual features of a landscape scene.

Scenic

Many of the tools I use (some displayed on the background of this page) are no bigger then a 1 penny piece or a dime, with most being around 2 - 4mm in diameter.

After using these to create the basic shapes, outlines and matting, I then use a stylus for the smaller details such as hair or fabric.
